Radha Naam Reminder is a free Android application that plays devotional audio reminders at user-defined intervals to support your spiritual practice.

3. How the App Works

Radha Naam Reminder operates entirely on your device. Here is how the core functionality works:

Reminder Scheduling

The App uses Android's AlarmManager to schedule exact alarms at your chosen interval (from 1 minute to 23 hours 59 minutes). When an alarm fires, a foreground service plays the selected audio and re-schedules the next alarm. All scheduling data is stored locally on your device.

Audio Playback

You can choose from four built-in devotional sounds (Radha Naam, Sita Ram, Om Namah Shivay, Hare Krishna) or select a custom audio file from your device. Audio files are read directly from your local storage and are never uploaded or shared.

Reboot Persistence

The App registers a boot receiver so reminders are automatically restored after your device restarts. This uses only local device storage — no server communication is involved.

Battery Optimization

The App may request exemption from Android's battery optimization (Doze mode) to ensure reminders are delivered reliably. This is a standard Android permission and does not involve any data collection.

4. Permissions

The App may request the following Android permissions, all of which are used solely for core functionality:

• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / SET_ALARM — To schedule precise reminder alarms
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — To restore reminders after device reboot
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE — To play audio reliably in the background
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — To display the foreground service notification (Android 13+)
• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_AUDIO — To access custom audio files you select
• REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — To ensure reliable alarm delivery

None of these permissions are used to collect, transmit, or share any data.

5. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or libraries that collect user data. There are:

• No analytics services (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics)
• No advertising networks or ad SDKs
• No crash reporting services
• No social media SDKs
• No tracking or attribution tools

6. Data Storage

All app preferences (your selected interval, chosen sound, theme preference) are stored locally on your device using Android's standard SharedPreferences. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not accessible to us or any third party
• Is deleted when you uninstall the App

Since the App does not collect any data from any user, it is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or any applicable age threshold in your jurisdiction) — because we do not collect personal information from anyone.
